[Plugin: Custom sidebars] Creating New Sidebar

    Hi – I’m using the latest WordPress and Thesis Theme 1.8.

    I’ve installed your plugin but I’m having trouble creating a New Sidebar. After I save, I get a notice that says “The sidebar has been created successfully” but no sidebars show up in the Custom List.

    When I first tried this, I was able to create a new sidebar but deleted it. Now nothing I do seems to stick.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Walter,

    I have to improve the error messages of the plugin. Are you giving the same ald name to the sidebar??

    I will try to reproduce the error and give you a response soon.

    Hello,

    Having the same issue here as well. Deleted a sidebar and then nothing. Tried deactivating and uninstalling and installing again, still nothing. Please advise.

    The version 0.5 should fix the problem you had, try it and tell me 🙂

    I successfully created two sidebars in the plugin. But how do I tell them where to go? I mean, I can name it “Right Sidebar”, but it doesn’t know where to go just because I name it that… Sorry, I’m a complete novice.

    My theme doesn’t have sidebars – it Typominima… but this plugin will still create new ones right? Not just replace existing ones?

    Hi Angela,
    I’m afraid you need a theme that have sidebars, the plugin creates new sidebars, but it place them where the theme original sidebars are, though.

    So if your theme doesn’t have sidebars the new ones can’t be shown.

    Custom sidebars is already working properly with thesis theme, since version 0.7.1. Hope you enjoy it!!
