• Hi,

Sometimes, when you attempt to log into my website with a correct username and password, an error occurs. The error is as follows (in red):

“Plugin did not receive expected response. The action might not be completed. Some other plugin or code on your site is interferring with the plugin’s functionality. Temporarily deactivate all other plugins to further confirm. To disable this message, uncheck “error log” option from the settings.”

The only other “User Reg” related Apps i have are:

    Profile Builder – by Cozmoslabs

    User Registration – by WPEverest

Can you investigate why these may overlap with your plugin? thanks,

  • I had the same log error! it happened once then I closed the registration form, open it again and it worked fine, that was very weird! It was registration of a new account. I attached screenshot

    i know!

i still haven’t solved this issue. The only thing I’ve managed to do to “reduce” to problem, is just removing / hiding the “error log”.

But… a new person who registers or someone who logs in, gets refreshed without seeing the issue, but it works 2nd time, which still isn’t ideal from a UX POV.

Any chance in getting a list from you on: what “user” and “registration” plugins you’re using? Maybe we can find a commonality?

    Hello,

Does it happen every “first time” or randomly?

Could anyone of you please share your staging site login so that I can further debug?

    Please share at xootix.com/contact

Honestly, I think it was first time and randomly because I was looking at the site sessions through “smartlook” and that’s where I saw it happened to a user

Thank you. I will further debug and get back to you.

Any update here? I’m also seeing this error, but I’m seeing it during the password reset process and I believe it’s mostly related to users trying to reset their password but the email does not exist in the system?

Has this been fixed yet? I also am having random users reporting this problem. I’ve tried to recreate and have members of my team recreate it, but we cannot.

It seems to always affect the same user(s). One user cannot login due to this issue.

    Any fixes / updates planned?

This isn’t an error, its a debug message from the plugin.

This happens, when some other plugin on your site modifies the login/signup/reset-password functionality and doesn’t let the popup plugin take control of it.
Please check your site and see if there is any security plugin installed which restricts user from signing in, something like 2FA or limits login attempts.
If its related to particular user, see if you’re able to replicate the issue on your end by signing in with the user’s login credentials.

For me it was AIO WP Security, which is blocked users after too much count of login try. You can unblock such users here wp-admin/admin.php?page=aiowpsec&tab=locked-ip
