Hi ericamsterdam,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.
If you have installed WPERP turn that off first as it can cause conflicts. If not, you’ll then need to test for a plugin clash. Switch off all your plugins and check if the issue remains. If it’s working properly, switch them back on one at a time and see if the issue returns. If it does, make a note of the plugin causing the issue and let me know and then I can try to replicate the problem.
I am having the same problem. I disabled all plugins, uninstalled WPHR, reinstalled WPHR from WP plugins page and uploaded a zip file.
“Plugin cannot be activated because it caused a fatal error”
WordPress 4.9.7
WP-HR 0.1.8
Your help is appreciated.

Hi mychaeljames,
The issue causing the meessage “An Error Occured”
Is that your installed PHP Version is: 5.3.29
The WPHR Manager plugin requires PHP version 5.4.0 or greater
The version of your PHP is unsupported and old.You should update your PHP software or contact your host regarding this matter. This is not something we can fix for you I’m afraid.
Best wishes,
Paul
ericamsterdam, could you also let me know if the issue is related to the PHP version (see above) or if not perhaps we can still assist?
Thank you. I updated to PHP 5.7 and it installed without issue.
Closing the thread as believe the issue is resolved.
