Encrypted in what way? Do you mean the URL that is used to redirect to PayPal?

Yes, I believe so. Once submitting from the website, I’m taken to PayPal and receive the following alert:
“The seller accepts encrypted website payments only. You cannot pay the seller through un-encrypted buttons. Please contact your seller for more details.”
This actually has nothing to do with the configuration of the plugin, but there are two ways to fix it:
1. Install an SSL certificate for your checkout page. Doing this will cause the buttons to be encrypted and all data will be served via https://
2. Disable the encrypted payments requirements. This is perfectly fine and does not cause security problems for you. To do this, follow the directions here: https://support.bigcommerce.com/questions/963/What+is+the+%22seller+accepts+encrypted+web+site+payments+only%22+error+message+with+PayPal%3F

Thanks! I suspected these were my only options. Will look into SSL 🙂
how does one install an SSL certificate to the check out page? Specific code or a plugin?
I’d recommend you use the WordPress HTTPS plugin.
Thank you for the plugin. I have acquired an ssl through godaddy and am added in the plugin. When I click on the check out link I still get the above paypal message. Is there something special I need to do with the plugin?
What’s the exact error message you get?
