Hi!

I have created User Groups and assigned users to each of them for the different “departments”. Inside every user group, there is at least one contributor and one editor.

I would like it so that when any contributor in a user group drafts a post (or submits them for review), that these posts automatically have the notification setting selected – so that editors are aware when new posts have been submitted without them having to keep logging into the dashboard to check.

I think the easiest way would be for all posts to automatically have the Notification setting selected based on their group – regardless of whether its a contributor/editor/etc.

Is this possible?

It should be pretty easy to improve our existing example so you can do this as well. I’ve filed an issue to do so and will update this thread when I’m done.

Finally updated our example to include information on how this works: http://editflow.org/extend/auto-subscribe-user-groups-for-notifications/

It’s pretty simple. Basically, we get all user groups for whomever is set as the post author, and then auto-subscribe those user groups when you save the post.

Let me know if you had different requirements than this.
