Have you tried the Story Budget? That feature is designed for precisely what it seems you are looking for.
thanks Scott – i dug a bit deeper and its probably what we need – may i ask how i would make sure all stories for a certain weeks issue are searchable here, how does it determine the ‘date’ of a story relevent to a certain issue? is it publish date of the post , or could i use the a custom entry in Editorial metadata? ive set one up called ‘Issue date’ and also a ‘page number’ – would love to use this for layout artists to make sense of what needs to be placed in Indesign pages.
Story Budget uses the current publication date (even if it’s not published).
We don’t currently surface Editorial Metadata on the Story Budget view. You can look at the most recent Calendar view – perhaps that’s better suited to your needs.
Actually… in v0.7, you can mark an editorial metadata term as “viewable” and have it appear in the calendar and story budget. It won’t sort the posts by a date field, however. We’ll take that as a suggestion for a future release.
