I have seen other postings about date picker not showing up for Events Manager and that this is usually an issue with a plug-in conflict or theme. In my case, I tried switching themes (to the Twenty Ten) and the date picker showed up.

So, how do I figure out how to make this work with my current theme? I’m using Genesis framework with Magazine child theme from Studio Press.

    Any suggestions?

  • please check if your theme has it’s own jquery e.g. google api and if it’s the same version as wordpress built-in jquery library because EM uses wordpress jquery library.

Genesis also uses WordPRess’ built in jquery library. πŸ˜‰ We adhere to WP standards as much as possible.

Make sure you are on the current version of WP (3.4.1) and the current version of Genesis (1.8.2)

Thanks for the info/help. Yes, I am on WP 3.4.1 and using the current version of Genesis (1.8.2). I have tried this with both Chrome (20.0.xxx)and IE (9) with the same problem.

I’m happy to troubleshoot, but just not sure where to start.

have you tried disabling your other plugins? if the theme is doing the right thing (sounds like it!), then chances are it’s a plugin.

If you have a url of it front-side or is it just in the admin area?

Having the same issue, datepicker is not displaying in the admin section when adding an event. I have tried switching to default themes with no luck.

Not using many plugins, list of plugins is:

    • Google Analyticator
    • No Self Pings
    • RB Internal Links
    • TinyMCE Advanced
    • WordPress SEO

Also, no JS errors are appearing in the console on the page.

Edit: Also, have tried this in Chrome and FF, clearing the cache completely in FF and this is still not working.

have you tried disabling these plugins? I’m sure SEO is ok as that’s always on when testing.

alternatively, it’s your theme, and if so maybe this helps – http://msyk.es/blog/prevent-jquery-wordpress-theme/

Okay, so I’ve disabled all plugins and switched to the 2011 theme, and the date picker is still not working.

Edit: going to do a fresh install of the plug in and report back.

Edit: It really seems as though no js is loading in the admin area of the Events Manager. Does anyone know what could cause something like this? When I switch back to version 4.15 of the plugin, everything works fine for the date picker, however there are db errors with the newest version of WordPress.

my last comment is wrong given what Andrea said (didn’t re-read) … but if you’ve switched themes then it’s definitely not your theme and you must have another plugin activated (e.g. in mu-plugins)?

100% sure it works on a vanilla install.

BTW, after I unsuccessfully tried to figure out which plugin was causing a conflict (I turned them all off), I switched off of this event manager plugin (which is unfortunate b/c I liked some of the features) and moved to All in One Event Calendar by Then.ly and haven’t had any date picker problems.

Okay seems like this was a caching issue for me, after clearing the entire cache, the datepicker seemed to be fine. Sorry for the confusion.

Well nothing is working for me. I still can’t get the date picker to work. Deactivated all the plugins, etc. and still zip. So after all that, and I can’t use the current update because it will give a fatal error, I’ve about had it. Anyone solved this problem?

    Thanks!
