[Plugin: Facebook Comments for WordPress] No like button when comments aren't on?

I have 2 questions:

1. If I have commenting turned off I get no like buttons. On pages & posts I’d like people to like it even when comments are turned off. I turn off comments on all pages, but leave them on for all posts.

2. On Pages (like my Home page) when comments are turned off there is a big giant COMMENTS ARE DISABLED message. How do I hide that? It’s ugly.
