Same problem. Short code not replaced by form.
Maybe another plugin is conflicting.
Some poorly written or outdated plugins can cause this.
Do this as a test:
Temporarily disable all your other plugins.
Does it work now? If yes, enable the plugins one by one to determine
which one conflicts. Which plugin was causing it?
Hi Mike,
Just registered to tell you this…
It wasnt working for me, samw as above. The problem was that I was using a plugin for adsense for all pages by default – All in One Adsense and YPN
I had to use <!–noadsense–> before the shortcode and it started working.
Thanks
Hi Mike,
WordPress 3.1
It works fine in pages, and is now broken in the sidebar widgets, I’ve de-activated all the plugins and it made no difference, I’ve re-installed WP 3.1 and it still makes no difference.
As per your link, [caption] doesn’t display on pages, yet it DOES display in the text sidebar widgets…
Any ideas, most appreciated.
Ok that’s weird ….
[caption] displays, I put the form in a left hand widget and it started working, moved it to the right aad it works … [caption] still diplays in the side widgets though.
So its fixed …?
(no it wasn’t chaching I disabled that!)
You have to setup your theme to use shortcode in sidebar widgets.
See this FAQ

Thanks Mike
Quick question – did you change the short code ‘code’ recently?
Because the code that I had in the widget that ‘worked’ was one that was ‘parked’ and I moved it to the widget area, and it was different from the short code on the set up / config page, though it picked up the default form #1 …..
It’s all working – fanatastic speed of response and support, thanks again
