Do you have fuzzy url matching enabled on the settings page?
Do you have any other plugin filters or posts that would be interfering with it?
Yes I have, should I try deactivate?
I have other plugin filter for archive, author, category
So you have fuzzy url matching enabled? Or you have posts or other plugin filters that might interfere? Or both? Please be specific.
Do you have a post that has the url http://www.cookingwithpeachy.com/wordpress/recipe-gallery/beef/
or
http://www.cookingwithpeachy.com/wordpress/recipe-gallery/appetizer/
I have:
Fuzzy machine enabled
A page address:
http://www.cookingwithpeachy.com/wordpress/recipe-gallery/ [set as homepage by wordpress theme function]
Pages:
http://www.cookingwithpeachy.com/wordpress/recipe-gallery/appetizers/
http://www.cookingwithpeachy.com/wordpress/recipe-gallery/beef/
http://www.cookingwithpeachy.com/wordpress/recipe-gallery/chicken-turkey/
and so on for several others
I have set the “Post type plugin” to PAGE & POST and each of the two has different setup, which seems to be priority compare plugin filter, in fact, for the other dynamic pages type such archive, author, the filters work but for those above, being still under “page” post type, if I do not check the “override post setting” within the post editor, the filter setting takes no effect but the “page” post type general setting yes.
Page and post type settings take precedence. So a plugin filter will be ignored.
Oh I understand now, so I need to edit page by page if I want a difference from the standard page type setup, what about plugin group, how it works?
If you create a plugin group you can turn that group off on several different pages. Then if you have a plugin that is in that group and you want to enable it on all of those pages you just remove it from the group. Or you can add a new plugin to that group and it will be disabled on all of those pages.
