  • make sure you’re using the latest version of WordPress.

You shouldn’t be getting any errors, even with Feedburner.

I had 2.8.4 so I copied the new 2.8.5 version folders over the old ones but the problem remains the same: blank pages (if u want to check it’s http://www.blogand.info). I would be glad if I could only acces the wp-admin login… Cuz there were a lot of files that had been changed with the plugin so I can’t imagine how can I manually fix the problem… Any ideas?

Thank God I managed to fix the problem… I realized that this plugin created .bak files of the modified .php files so I restored them with a file renamer software… So anybody else should use this plugin if it harms the code???

i have the exact same problem1!!!!

I have the same problem as well. I am in the process of trying to fix this. I would add that the site is still up and running; I checked. But the Admin pages are not accessible. So I can’t do any admin right now,.

That said, it is otherwise a great plugin in that it saw and fixed the trailing space in scores of files in my installation. After it was installed, my server load dropped dramatically.

I haven’t fixed the situation in its entirety but my white screen was due to a cache plugin (W3 Total Cache). When I got the plugin back to its pre-fixed state, everything came back. If you use this thing you have to undo all other plugins first. That’s my advice. I hope that helps.

OK, so now I am done and have the steps you need to take to avoid the white screen problem. Here they are.

    1. backup your database and files. If worse comes to worst, you can always overwrite. That’s also why the .bak files get created. That is very important.

    2. deactivate all other plugins.

    3. run the plugin. afterwards, you should have eliminated the problem with the extra line at the top of the rss feed, which in my case was also a problem on the site as well. If this plugin fix does anything wrong to our root php files or the ones in your wp-includes or wp-admin folders, you can use the .bak files or your backup to overwrite. I didn’t have this problem though.

    4. Now is where you would have had the white screen problem. Because your plugins were inactive to begin with, you won’t get a white screen this time. Since you already de-activated the plugins, you have to reactivate them. What happened to me is that as I re-activated the plugins, a plugin which had been stripped (erroneously?) of an extra line break. It failed. So I deleted it and re-downloaded the original version from ww.wp.xz.cn. In my case, the plugin that failed was advertising manager.

    5. The first plugins to re-activate are any plugin that alter your feed like Ozh Better Feed, which puts a footer in mine. This includes plugins like add-to-any or sociable.

    6. Once you have re-activated any plugins that alter feeds, you’ll want re-sync your feed with feedburner if you use it by going to the troubleshootize tab and hitting the button labelled “re-sync now.” If your feed works, you’ll get a message saying “You have successfully resynchronized the Feed….”.

    7. At this point, you can re-activate all the other plugins with the caching plugin being the last to re-activate. Empty your cache and you will have a fresh start and everything should be back to normal.

I spent a good half-day dealing with the line break and white screen, so I hope this saves someone my heartache.

    Good luck.
