Hi Richard,
Unfortunately, at this time, the answer is (regrettably) “no”, it only works for everywhere a WordPress editor is used in the admin panel (with a few exceptions).
However, I think this is a WONDERFUL idea to allow an option for the user to select to include the enhanced editor on posts, pages, or custom post types.
I will certainly incorporate this suggestion into the plugin for the next release.
Thank you for the awesome suggestion, and please have a wonderful day!
Hey Josh,
Thanks for the prompt reply and glad you like the suggestion. Great news you’ll integrate it into the next release! Thanks 🙂
Any ideas when the next release will be ready? 😉

Well.. I wish I could say a day or two… but….
Honestly, I want to implement it in the pro version first; then I can simply copy over the functions to the free version.
I have an update scheduled for pro on this coming Monday. I figure it’ll only take me a day or two afterwards to move the functionality to the free version and push an update.
Sooo… Wednesday, perhaps??
Hey Josh,
That is terrific news! I’ll be purchasing the pro version as soon as it’s out.
Thanks again for you’re help!

Well, thanks. I appreciate the suggestion! It worked great; already done in Pro; and will get to free version within a day or two.
Thanks again, and please have a wonderful week.
Are you including an option for custom post type excerpts too?

Yes. It was just added in the latest plugin release (version 3.8). Please update to the latest version of WP Edit.
Thanks.
