[Plugin: Frontend Uploader] Plugin 0.2.4 update fails to activate

I downloaded the 0.2.4 update (from 0.2.2) and upon re-activation got the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WeDevs_Settings_API in /Users/Sarah/Sites/brochure-wp/beta/wp-content/plugins/frontend-uploader/lib/php/settings-api/class.settings-api.php on line 10

I’ve since reverted but please advise.

Do you know whether WeDevs_Settings_API is being included by another plugin?

Yes, the WP Retina 2X plugin uses it: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/wp-retina-2x/

Sorry about that. The immediate fix is to only keep one of the plugins enabled. Rinat created a pull request upstream to make sure the class can be included twice, and hopefully that will make it into v0.2.5

This is fixed in 0.2.5. Also as Daniel mentioned, I made sure that WeDevs_Settings_API won’t trigger that error.

I just tried updating the plugin again, and this time it activates, but then kills the entire WP because it causes the above error in another plugin:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WeDevs_Settings_API in /Users/Sarah/Sites/brochure-wp/beta/wp-content/plugins/wp-retina-2x/wr2x_class.settings-api.php on line 10

Thoughts?

Yep, I confirm, the developer of wp-retina-2x did not update the plugin. Let me chime in on the discussion.
