[Plugin: Gallery] Image Sort Order Screwed Up?

    Hi,

    So there seems to be an issue with the sort order of images when uploading pictures.

    I have 47 images, each named IMG_0000.jpg through IMG_0047.jpg.

    I uploaded them in batches of five at a time (PHP kept timing out when trying to upload 10 or more at a time) and the first 20 sorted just fine–numerically, as expected.

    From that point forward, several images are out of order despite being uploaded with sequential numbers.

    Any ideas as to why this would happen?

    Did you ever get a solution to this EfremJ? I have similar issue with sorting the Albums in the right order. The template is so messy!

    I wish to know a solution as well. I made mine that #1 was to be the main thumbnail and the rest really didn’t matter if they were in proper order but if I were to upload in a sequence in the future I want to make sure it works properly. Hard to show a timeline when it’s not in order.

    Hello,

    Please open the galleries menu and choose random gallery from the list. You should be redirected to the gallery editing page. There will be one or several media upload icons between the title and content adding blocks. Please choose any icon. After that you’ll see a popup window with three or four tabs. Choose gallery tab and there’ll be displayed attached files which are related to this gallery. You can change their order using drag’n’drop method. Just setup a necessary order and click ‘Save’ button.

    Hi, did the image sort get messed up with the latest WordPress update? It used to work before I upgraded now it doesn’t seem to be. I go in and it has the images numbered correctly but when I save and update it doesn’t update the order. I go back in to double check and it does still show the correct numbered order under the “gallery” tab but for whatever reason isn’t working properly.

    Is anyone else experiencing this?

    Could you be more specific, the order is missed in the admin panel or in the front-end?

    Please update plugin to the latest version. In the latest version we have added a settings of displaying order in the plugin. Go to the plugin settings page => ‘Attachments order by’ block and ‘Attachments order’ block.

    Thanks for the advice,

    I assumed that I had the latest version of the plugin as it wasn’t telling me an upgrade was available. After double checking I was using version 3.06. I deleted the plugin and re-installed to version 3.3 Once I did that it worked. There must have been an issue with the version 3.06 and the latest version of WordPress.

    Sorting now works! yay!
