    What was the error message?

Also to detect the plug-in in conflict, you should have deactivated other plug-ins one by one.

ok. the conflict is with the wordpress importer plugin. deactivated all and then installed and activated Gecka submenu. activated others one by one. wordpresss importer was last and also broke it.
