Hi there!
I am so sorry for this and cannot rebuild this behavior yet…
I’ve tested this whole bbPress thing A LOT BEFORE release and always worked!
I just tested with Lifestyle 2.0 and your prefered layout and also worked!
Question: do you have any other layout setting in your functions.php regarding the forum?
You could try a re-save of the regular Genesis layout option and ALSO in the plugin’s page: set the forum on “Genesis Default” and then save. Then re-open the plugin’s page and select “Content-Sidebar” and save. — Does that help?
Did you before use version 1.0 of the plugin maybe? Or do you have any other layout options set with hooks or other plugins? (Could be a priority conflict…)
Hope this helps a bit 🙂
Hi Dave,
I did have a conflicting function…
Very sorry for taking your time!
Thanks for the great plugin
No problem, glad you found it out and it’s working! 🙂
Can you tell me how to specify a particular sidebar? I am using Genesis simple sidebars and have created one called forumsidebar for the bbpress sidebar. How can I have it show up there instead of default sidebar?
Thanks!
Bob
@tulsabobt:
You are on the right way with this and you need both plugins for that: My “Genesis Layout Extras” and also the “Simple Sidebars” plugin!
The magic to get it working requires a little bit additional code in your functions.php of the child theme.
I will post this code in my next answer here, I just need your ID of the specific sidebar you want for bbPress. Just look at your Simple Sidebars settings page and please give me the name AND the ID so I could adjust this directly for you 🙂

Hi
Thanks for your work on both plugins.
I’m in the same situation, here are my details!
Name: Primary Sidebar Forums
ID: sidebar-forums
Cheers
James.
