Hi there, I recently started using this however I get this error:
<!– GDE EMBED ERROR: invalid URL, please use fully qualified URL –>

And this is what I’m trying to put in:

    [gview file="http://localhost/ocps/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/agm-presentation.ppt"]

The link is correct and works, my initial thoughts were that it detected localhost as being without a “.com” or whatever on the end so it doesn’t attempt to try it, but any help would be appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Dave.

  • Hey David,

The plugin will run on a localhost install of WordPress, but the file itself has to be internet accessible (not local only) for the viewer to do its job. See Notes. I hope that helps.

Ok, I understand what you mean. I guess I didn’t fully explain my situation, I’m not hosting the site from a local machine, just designing it at the minute all locally, and you’ve clarified it that the file must be internet accessible so I guess that is that 🙂

I haven’t got the website on an actual server yet to try the plugin but I have saw it work on other sites and it looks good, exactly what I need!

    Many thanks,
    David.

The plugin should work well on localhost. You’ll just have to put the file somewhere on a public server if you want to test out that bit in advance.

Hope it works well for you!
