it loads on chrome but no luck with other browsers….

I had no trouble getting this to load in Firefox (9.0 on W7 64-bit), however IE9 did not completely work (the viewer loaded but the pages were broken images). This is somewhat expected, though. A consequence of Google’s viewer that sometimes (though not usually) tanks documents in IE is a cross-site cookie issue.

You may experience better results by trying out the Enhanced Viewer under GDE Settings.

    I’ve got the same problem…
    I change nothing (Firefox 8 + XP + Goggle doc embeder 1.9.4).
It works with the same config on another PC, but doesn’t work on mine.
    After updating (fox+plugin) , it doesn’t work.
It still works with the “Private Browsing ON” however, and with IE and Chrome, there’s no problem.

“Doesn’t work” is really not very helpful (what happens? any viewer at all? any error message?), but I will make a few suggestions. Please try each and see if they resolve the issue.

    * Try clearing Firefox’s cache and cookies, restart the browser, try again. If you don’t want to clear all your cookies, you can just remove all of those related to Google.

    * Try the enhanced viewer option (which certainly would have broken since 1.9.4, so I’m glad you’ve updated!). Any difference?

The fact that it works on one system and not on another in the “same configuration” definitely indicates that the problem is not with the plugin, or even Google’s viewer (which indeed can be temperamental at times) but with the configuration of the affected system. It just may take a little trial and error to figure out what the difference is.

    Happy Christmas to you all!

    Hi Kevin

    I updated firefox
    Cleared cache and cookies
    restarted the browser

I also have the 2.2.2 version
    I am running firefox 9 w7 32bit
the viewer loads but it is a broken image.

I tried the Enhanced viewer option you suggested and it displays a message that my documents has been moved.

It also does not work on IE9 for me and if does not work with Private browsing on for unlike what absi experienced……..

I know it is the holidays…have a Merry Christmas!!!
and I will keep trying different things and let know what happens

    AnnaKelly,

Do you see your document if you visit either of these links?

    http://wp.me/sGpKT-test

    http://wp.me/sGpKT-test2

Both of these links load your document for me in Firefox 9 (64 bit). To get them to load in IE9 I had to go to Internet Options > Privacy > Sites and add “google.com” to the safe list, or set the Privacy slider to “Low.” Otherwise IE blocks the Google cookie and the document doesn’t load. This is an old problem with Google Viewer that crops up from time to time.

    Merry Christmas,

    Kevin

I was able to fix the issue by deleting and re-installing the plugin, then removing cookies and cache files.

Hope this helps – Merry Christmas
    Chuck
