Happy to see you’ve gone ahead and updated the plugin. I don’t know if it resolves the problem as I’m now using another plugin but I hope it works for other users.

I’m having a similar issue as hope. Even though I set it to open in window, the plugin adds data-wpel-target= instead of just target=. This has caused all my links to open in same window. Is there any way to turn off the _blank, _self,_new, feature? Truthfully I only take advantage of the class feature.
True, the data-wpel-target is used by JavaScript to open in a new window.
