    Hi,

I have taken over the maintenance of a website from someone else. The website has WP Activity Log installed, but I cannot see it in the plugin list. Therefore I cannot perform updates. I am guessing that the previous administrator configured it to be hidden. That user no longer exists. How can I unhide the plugin from the plugin list?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello there mikepalmer !

Thanks for reaching us on this!

i totally understand the scenario and we have a quick solution for this. All you need to do is search for the following database entries inside your site’s WP_OPTIONS table and remove them:

    • wsal_restrict-plugin-settings
    • wsal_only-me-user-id

We also have an article that describes this use case and method to regain access so pasting it here just for the record – https://melapress.com/support/kb/wp-activity-log-locked-wordpress-activity-log-regaining-access/

Let me know how everything goes!

    Hi @lucianwpwhite

Thank you for your reply. I had found that post. However, there are no entries with those names in my WP_OPTIONS table. Strange.

    All the best, Mike.

    Hello again!

Thanks, really unexpected. However, can you please send us an abstract of all WSAL_ prefixed entries inside the WP_OPTIONS table for analysis? Please send them over via email so that you do not disclose any sensitive data here on the forum: our email address is [email protected].

Once ready, make sure you reference this ticket so we can make the correlation between the tickets.

    Many thanks

    Many thanks @lucianwpwhite

There are no WSAL entries at all. I have attached an export in the email I have just sent to you.

    All the best, Mike.

As confirmed via email, resetting the plugin settings afresh solved this!
