This plugin simply imports text from specified portions of HTML files into corresponding fields in the WordPress posts (or pages). What is displayed to site visitors, including the title and meta tags, depends on what your theme chooses to display. That is, if you use the setting to import your old meta description tags as excerpts, you’ll also need to use a theme that displays excerpts as meta description tags.

thank you so much… this is a bit beyond my WP knowledge… so if I understand you correctly, if I choose to import my old description as an excerpt in the plugin and on the other side use a theme that displays these excerpts as meta tags, I am fine??
do you have the name of such a theme to have a look ??
