    Hi, after importing a username the password is changed from the original in the csv. Is this what it should do? To test this out i set the password on my test user, exported to CSV, then imported and then it would not allow me to logon with the password.

    Also your wp documents refer to a link pubpoet.com but the website is just a holding site.

    I should have said, i exported the CSV using wp export users plus
    I was unable to use your wp export users in the sense that when i run it nothing happens, i am unable to see a generated CSV file anywhere. As i cannot access your documentation then i have no idea where it is meant to output to. Perhaps you could enlighten me. thank you, nigel

    Hi Nigel,

    WordPress hashes the passwords before storing them in the database.

    So you are exporting the hashes, not the original passwords, which are then “double hashed” during import.

    And no, there is no way around that. The plugin simply uses the WordPress functions and does not directly access the database.

    You could just use phpmyadmin to import/export the users table, then if you need to import any user meta as well, use the plugin but without the password field.
