Plugin installation and upgrade not working

I was trying to upgrade a plugin on one of the website that I manage and I got this error:
Downloading update from http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/maintenance-mode.5.0.zip.

and it just stops there.

Same thing also happen when I am installing a plugin (not only for that specific plugin but for any plugin I use.
