  • Why did plugin installation fail? What error message did you receive?

    This is the error message:

    Downloading install package from http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/hoppress.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Could not create directory. /home/benwilf/public_html/wp-content/plugins/hoppress/

    Plugin install failed.

    Return to Plugin Installer

Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your plugin installs are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

Still did not work after trying all the combination numbers. Still getting this error message:

    Downloading install package from http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/hoppress.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Could not create directory. /home/benwilf/public_html/wp-content/plugins/hoppress/

    Plugin install failed.

    Return to Plugin Installer

You could try installing the plugin manually.

    how should I do it.

Download and unpack the plugin’s .zip archive, then upload the plugin’s folder to wp-content/plugins on your server using FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides). Log into your site and the you’ll find that the plugin will now be in your Plugins tab waiting to be activated.

Still not working. The message below:

You do not appear to have any plugins available at this time.

Perhaps the plugin is incompatible with the current version of WordPress.

I have the same plugins with my other websites and they don’t have problem of incompatibility. Would it possible to undo the current version of WordPress and back to previous version. will see if all the plugins are there. If not there, will see if they could be installed.
