So i’ve been having issues since wordpress updated to 6.2 and every time ive tried to fix a problem, i start getting a new one. Right now whenever i try to download a new plugin, i get an error message that the plugin installation failed. This is the latest message i got trying to install a plugin. I have a feeling its because when i restored my site from a backup, i didnt delete the old folders properly and also i don’t know how to do that or access them at all. But this is what came up when trying to install a plugin:

    Downloading installation package from https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/wp-downgrade.1.2.5.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Destination folder already exists. /home/905323.cloudwaysapps.com/qvywjpzdpv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-downgrade/

    Plugin installation failed.

You may try manually installing plugins. See
Installing or upgrading the Plugin manually.

    Hi @elevatedexpress!

If the folder already existed, but you were able to click Install when searching for the plugin, this does indeed suggest that the plugin’s folder existed but the plugin file did not.

    This should resolve your issue:

    1. Download the ZIP file for the plugin from the Plugins Repository.
    2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
    3. Click Upload Plugin.
    4. Click Choose file, select the ZIP file, and click Install Now.
    5. When the installation fails, a few moments later you should see a Replace current with uploaded button. Click this button.

Let us know if this resolves your issue. 🙂

Hi, it would appear that the plugin installed and i was able to activate it even though it said installation failed. So i think everything is good now. Thank you!
