Hey, that looks like a fun toy to play with! What a surprise to visitors to your site to see their home flag in a welcome message of some kind. Any idea as to how accurate the results are? It was correct in my case, BTW.

I’ve had a few feedback from people from various countries, all said it worked for them, correct country.

We all promise to keep it secret ๐
Nice ๐
I might play with it a bit and see if I can get it to put a flag next to every commenter’s name, since it already logs their ip it shouldn’t be difficult.

Ah yes, that looks like a very cool idea ๐
I’ll try this too
Very nice indeed. First thing that entered my mind was exactly what kristin suggested. I implemented it hurriedly, and it works, but causes WAY more queries to be performed (ick). Take a look if you’re the slightest bit interested:

I’m going to have another look at it when I wake up a bit, to find a nicer, faster way of doing it.
Great work ozh, very nice indeed. I like this plugin ๐
An alternative is my GeoIP plugin, you’ll find it here http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/10/10274

For future reference, I’ve added both plugins to the Wiki (individual pages) and to the Wiki Plugin list
ozh – is there a way to incorporate the iptonation plugin to plot ip’s to a world map?
i’ve looked all over the web and haven’t found one, and thought it would be a really fun toy – to have a map and see where all your visitors have come from.
