• Been using this for years with no issue, this plugin got me out of a few bad situations.

This all changed after version 5.0. Can’t modify old jobs, can’t rename new jobs, can’t schedule properly, can’t configure properly.

BackWPUp is over, this update buried it. Even if they fix it, the authors lost my trust forever.

    Hi devyggval,

We’re truly sorry to hear that the recent update has caused such frustration and impacted your trust in BackWPup. We understand how important it is for you to have a reliable and flexible backup solution.

It was never our intention to restrict functionality for its own sake. Our goal was to simplify the plugin for non-technical users, but we recognize the need for more flexibility. We’re committed to removing these limitations for all users in upcoming updates.

We’re actively working to address the issues you’ve mentioned, including removing the two-job limitation and restoring the ability to create, edit, and schedule backup jobs as needed. Our goal is to bring back the functionality and reliability you relied on for years.

In the meantime, if you need to regain full functionality, you can revert to a previous version. You can download it here.

We deeply regret the inconvenience this has caused and are committed to making BackWPup a tool you can trust again.

    Hi @devyggval

Just wanted to reach out again, since a lot has changed since you shared your feedback.

BackWPUp 5.3.1 brings back multiple backup jobs, custom job titles, proper hourly and monthly scheduling, and improvements in archive format and storage handling. You can now create and manage jobs like before, with much more flexibility.

We understand your frustration at the time. If you’re open to giving it another shot, we’d really value your thoughts. No pressure, just hoping we’ve made enough progress to earn another look.
