Plugin is sending multiple confirmation emails

I hope you can help.
I’ve been using MyTickets and MyCalendar since lockdown started in the UK. We installed it on my wife’s website (www.zumbawithsandra.co.uk) to sell tickets to her fitness classes. It worked great and all was fine.
Just recently the plugin has been acting a little strange. Two things are happenning:
1. Sometimes users are able to purchase tickets for multiple events but only pay for one event resulting in lost revenue.
2. The plugin is sending multiple confirmation emails to the user.Just to let you know, we installed WP Mail SMTP plugin to route all the outgoing email traffic through my wife’s google mail account. The reason for this was to ensure that people did actually receive the email confirmations. This works as required.
The site was updated to PHP 7.4 yesterday. Would that have anything to do with it?
Could you please look into this for us? If you need to log into the site to investigate then I can give you access if needed.
