• I’m trying to figure out what the security issue is which has caused WP to suspend this plugin.

It is worth saving the plugin as it’s the only one I have found that handles images of different widths.

I’ve tried various diagnostic tools on the website which is running this plugin but nothing bad has been reported. https://www.bikefun.org

If anyone can diagnose the security issue, I could fork the plugin and fix the issue, or the plugin author might accept a pull request.

  • I agree that just unpublishing with no way of knowing what the issue is (other than a security issue) does not help the open source community to fix these issues and keep extensions alive.

I think this is done to prevent hackers using it as a source of information to target the vulnerability. I assume that the plugin author gets some information but again, they can’t share it here. I don’t know if the author is reading these posts, but if you are, please share with me at https://www.cbdweb.net/contact-us/ or maybe it’s possible to do a private reply here.

Having heard nothing, I plan to pull the code using svn and register a new plugin. Maybe WP will tell me what is wrong with it that way and I can offer a fork to this plugin.

@nikdow I sent you some information by your contact form.

thanks, that looks good – I will see if I can fix it and publish a new plugin soon.
