    Hello

I have used this plugin before in the past and it’s great so I decided to use it again only I have found an issue…

When I go to the Publications menu and select categories it has the categories I use in posts and when I add one it also adds it the post categories. I would like separate categories….is this an issue or is this what it is meant to be like?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I have tired using an older version of the plugin but it does the same…

    So just to confirm….

When I add a category it also adds that category to the Posts Categories and when I delete it from the Posts Categories it also deletes it from the publication categories.

Also when I add the shortcode [wp-publication-archive categories=”DOCS – Accounts”] with ‘DOCS – Accounts” being the name of my category it comes back with…

Sorry, but the categories you passed to the wp-publication-archive shortcode do not match any publication categories.

    You passed: DOCS – Accounts

Please help me I am pretty desperate.

I took a look, and figured out the issue. You’re using a dash in your category names, which WordPress auto-converts to an – when presenting the categories on the category list page. It looks like you copied the presentation of the category name into your shortcode rather than the category name itself.

This is what’s triggering the “no publications found.”

As for why categories are shown for both posts and publications, this is intentional. The Categories taxonomy is shared between both post types intentionally. I apologize if this causes any inconvenience.
