When trying to upload a doc file I get the “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.” error. Tried a plugin to manage mime types but did not work. Also tried adding the mime type through code.

Yes, I am facing this issue too. Same error.. trying to edit wp-includes/functions.php but having trouble correcting it. The resume I tried to upload was just a basic .docx

Anyone, any ideas?

Okay guys, I installed the Mime plugin and it fixed the problem (it works on 3.1.1) and added the following entries:

extension: doc mime: application/msword
extension: docx mime: application/msword

Also, for the list of mime types for other files, get it from: http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/mime-types.shtml
