• Hi,
I have got some problem with mandatory fields.

It seems that some people apply for jobs without filling all the fields i checked as mandatory…
I also noticed that when i try to apply without filling anything, it doesn’t list all the mandatory to fill, it only tells me that I must fill the last mandatory.

    I’m using version 0.6.5 on a wordpress 2.9.2.
Do you have some hint to prevent this ?

    Thx.

  • Thanks for the feedback! I’ll have a play around with the mandatory fields and see if I can reproduce this behaviour.

Thanks for you efforts and work !
    hope you’ll find something 🙂

I’ve been unable to reproduce this problem. Could you send me a link to your site, so I can see what’s happening there?

OK, here is the link to the “jobs section” : http://www.carrard.com/jobs/apply/

You’ll see that we just use a “generic” form as we don’t have job offers for now.

I’m wondering if this could be some upload error problem…

Ah, I see the problem. It seems you have a space ” ” in the data field in your Application Form Settings. This is being automatically filled out in the form fields, which makes the filter think that they’re filled out, so pass the mandatory field check.

I’ll put something in there to strip out whitespace so you don’t get this confusing error, but the easy workaround is to just remove the space from the data field.

    Well done !
It seems that the whitespace have been inserted when clikin to the mandatory checkbox, because i’m sure not to typed it and only mandatory fields had it.
But it could have been some older version “bug”, this “error message” problem was there for a long time.

Also, there were not whitespace for the file upload field, which was well noticed as empty on submitting, but some people had the form to validate without filling it though.

    thx
