    I’m not sure what you mean by a double optin feature. Could you clarify a bit what you mean?

    Sure – Someone who signs up for an email list gets a confirmation email with a link that he must click before he’s added to the list.

    It’s mainly for privacy/anti spam reason…

    Ah, that. MailChimp handles that part of things on the backend. When someone signs up for your newsletter/mailing list, they’ll receive an email asking them to confirm. You can also customize the look and feel of the notification in MailChimp’s admin tool.
