    Hi,

    Today i discover a problem with my yoast xml sitemap for post, i deactivate all plugin and test and finally discover than it’s yours who give an error:

    “Sitemap error: error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the…”

    Thank for this useful plugin, hope you’ll find solution for that problem.

    Hi,

    I’m guessing that it is the Alter HTML functionality that has messed up the HTML, adding a XML declaration somewhere else than at the top of the HTML. I’m using a library (simple_html_dom) for replacing images in the HTML and it may be that.

    Does it work if you disable Alter HTML?

    In Alter HTML settings, have you chosen the “picture tag syntax” or “Replace image URLs” ? Does it work if you change that setting?

    I have btw tested the combination between Yoast SEO and WebP Express on a few sites, but could not trigger the error. The problem probably only emerges with some HTML. Can you share your URL so I can view the HTML?

    I disable Alter HTML and it’s good now, thanks.
