[Plugin: Membership] Pages not visible?

I can’t make the hidden pages and exclusive pages become visible only for subscribers because the links are not https so other people can go to the hidden pages when they have the url link. And when i tried to privatized the (to be)hidden pages that are only exclusive for the subscribed member, the blog page becomes the homepage and other pages are not visible to the subscribers point of view on the menu.

What I am trying to pull out is that when a non member is visiting the site, they will be redirected to the login/registration page and when they login they will go to the page that we assign as homepage.

We only have the free version at present to test if this will work for us – is this the reason?
