• Hi! I love this plugin. However, I can’t get the shortcode to display a slideshow in a post. Instead of displaying the slideshow, I get a small black box.

Here is a link to the post that has the shortcode in it. http://www.darientimes.com/5706/darien-democrats-get-cool-and-raise-money/
You’ll see the black box under the first photo before the text starts.

I’m using WordPress 3.4 with the theme Unspoken by WPShower.

I did create a custom template to accommodate a caption, which can be seen in the right sidebar at the very bottom. (which is the same slideshow that Im trying to display in the post)

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Hi Maureen, you can add multiple slideshows to the same page, but not the same slideshow, so that could be causing some of these problems. Try removing the one in your sidebar and seeing if that helps.

There are a paragraph tags wrapped around all the elements in the slideshow that you added with the shortcode, this might be caused by them being wrapped around the shortcode itself. Switch to the HTML view in the post editor and make sure the shortcode is on a line all by itself.

Thanks for your quick response! I removed the widget and double checked the HTML and am still getting the same result. 🙁 Any other ideas?

Either there is something wrong with the custom slideshow template or there is a conflict with the theme.

I think that there is probably a filter in the theme that is messing with the shortcode, but I can’t take a look at the theme code. I can take a look at it in the theme editor if you want to send me the login info.
