    Hi-
I have a site that is a test area its http://www.quiltersretreats.com and I have been trying to add the slideshow just below the header and above content. In doing this, I have used the ‘Primary Widget Area’ for the slideshow.

Position-wise it’s right however, it ‘overlays’ the posts and the posts are visible through the slideshow. When I use the ‘First Top Widget Area’ it correctly pushes the posts below the slideshow but shifts the slideshow one column to the right..

Stuck on this and searching the forum didn’t show any solutions- any ideas appreciated!

Hi Frank, the page is split into two columns. The spot you have the slideshow in currently is the narrower, sidebar column, and the slideshow is sticking out of this column into the the wider, content column where you had the slideshow before.

You either need to use a full width template if your theme has one and it is widgetized, or you need to use the template tag to add the slideshow to your theme’s header.php file below the navigation, but before these two columns so that it can fill the full width of the page.

No problem, let me know if you have any trouble getting that to work.
