[Plugin: My Calendar] Editor cannot edit Groups

    Hello,

    I have a user with the role of editor who would like to be able to edit groups. They can see the “edit group” option listed out from the event along with Copy / Edit / Delete. When they click on “edit group” they receive a message that says “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”.

    So I’m wondering, is this by design or is this a bug? I double checked the settings page to see if there was any special permission needed to edit groups but I did not see it. Any help is appreciated.

    Assuming default permissions, the way this should work is that an Editor can edit any events (or event groups) that they created. This gets complicated with Groups, because a group could be constituted of events submitted by multiple users; the Editor would still only be able to edit the events within that group which they had submitted.

    You may want to try adjusting permissions to allow Editors to edit all events.

    Hi Joe,

    Thanks for the feedback. I looked into your suggestions but I’m not sure that either are the cause of the problem. First, all the events have been authored by the same user, who has the user role of “editor”. Second, I reviewed the options under Calendar>Settings and here’s what they are:

    Lowest user group that may create events [Editor]
    Lowest user group that may approve events [Editor]
    Enable approval options [checked]
    Lowest user group that may edit or delete all events [Editor]

    If I am missing something, please let me know. I appreciate your patience and feedback.

    Thanks – I’ll look into this. I’m in the process of revamping the permissions structure, though, so I may prefer to try and get the next version done sooner rather than backtrack to fix this bug. We’ll see!

    Hi I’m having a similar issue
    Would like to see each individual calendar only show events for that person, with admin seeing all the category users.

    Thank you for the great calendar, missing one function, otherwise will be perfect!
