[Plugin: Network Privacy] Even better network privacy requests

    Hi there.
    Excellent idea. I will definitely try it.
    I wonder if we can take it a step or two further.

    1. I hate the fact that the work flow of a new network creation is: create->login->hide from search engines. Not very good.
    Could we have an option, before creation, to have it NOT shown to search engines as default at the super admin panel?

    2. Is there a way to have certain plugins activated on the whole network but having their options show up only for the super admin or even better to only certain sites? Right now there is either show ALL plugins or not.

    3. In a single install (till 2.9.2) one could update/delete themes. In a network situation one canNOT update and in order to delete a theme it has to be activated first. Is there a way around it?

    #2 – plugins can be written to work that way. It’s really up to the plugin author to determine what permissions are appropriate for their plugins. However, if a plugin is active network wide, the site/blog admins do not see it in their plugin list.

    #3 not sure I follow you.

    #1 – I am trying the wpmu-new-blog-defaults and seems to work just fine

    #2 – Let me explain. I use the wp db backup. It is a very good but also a very dangerous plugin in the wrong hands. I want to have it activated globally but NOT show it’s options on other admins. Only to super-admin. Same with plugins like shokingly simple favicon or Custom Headers and Footers etc

    #3 – Please have a look. There is no notofication about a new version and furthermore I would need to activate the theme and then update it

    #2 – as I said above, it’s up to the plugin author to write the plugin with the appropriate permissions

    #3 – single installs and networks are different in regard to the theme & plugin installers. Only super admins have access to install, update or delete themes or plugins. In single WP blog admins are super admins. In a network there is a separate list of super admins.

    Side note: the network privacy plugin is for privacy on the front end of the site. Managing admin area permissions will not be a featured added to the plugin.
