First of all I love the idea behind the plug in and it sounds in all theory like exactly what I need for the site I’m developing. However unfortunately I just can’t get the custom fields to show up 🙁

What I mean is I’ve installed the plugin (ver 1.1.2) along side my nextgen gallery plugin (1.7.4) no trouble. Activated it, and used the upgrade link getting the following message “Database upgrade done” which I assume is the right response. I created a new custom image field, it’s linked to every gallery and it’s a text input field.

So far so good, but unfortunately when I go to the manage galleries page, no custom fields are available. The same problem occurs with custom gallery fields.

Nothing else along the way gives me the hint of their being a problem, but there’s really just nothing new on the page. I can even provide a screenshot if that helps. What am I doing wrong?

Is it at all relevant that this is being done on a test server with no external internet access? I wondered if the database upgrade required a connection or something. Thanks heaps in advanced, so very keen to get this off the ground.

    Hey Ben

Are you sure you have create an ‘image’ field? If you accidentally created a ‘gallery’ field, it will not show by itself. You always have to have at least 1 image field.

If you can get a screenshot of the field you have added, as well at a screenshot of the manage gallery page (perhaps there is another javascript error breaking something?) that might help.

It’s certainly a weird one, but hopefully I can get it sorted for you ASAP 🙂

Oh my god I’m so sorry this was a simple user error. I installed a whole bunch of plugins when I set up my site initially, but it was built off a server image which already had a few packaged with it. I thought I had manually installed the latest next gen. Turns out that was one of the ones that came with the image and hence was old. A next gen upgrade has fixed all problems. Forgive me for being a simpleton.

No stress Ben, glad it’s sorted. Enjoy the plugin!
