Hey
NGG doesn’t provide a place to hook into all its output methods, so this can’t be done without hacking some core NGG files.
Check out this thread, where gkrnours managed to get it working, to inspire your inner code hacker: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/get-custom-field-in-nextgen-widget
Hello Shauno,
I think you might have just broken this girls heart! I have spent the past two hours following bread crumbs all over the internet, and it would seem they all lead back to you. With great hope I have been reading all of the posts related to your custom fields plug-in, to finally arrive at this one. So, without further drama:
Did you just say that it is not possible for each image in the slideshow to have its own unique link to another cyberspace address? To put it another way: it is not possible to create a sort of “rotating image ad banner?”
Just wanted to be sure before giving up. I will look forward to your reply.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hey Lisa
I said that the slideshow isn’t templated like some of the other display methods. That means you need to get down and dirty in the actual NGG plugin.
I’m on holiday at the moment, so I’m not setup to check details, but I think there’s a couple functions nggShowSlideshow() and nggShowJSSlideshow() (or similar) inside nggfunctions.php.
If memory serves me correctly, you will need to alter the JS that runs the slideshow too. That might even be minified 🙂
It’s definitely possible, as I remember actually doing it for a personal client awhile back.
Good luck
