[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Effects, Image Size, and Text

Using WP 2.8.6 and NextGEN 1.4.3

First, thank you for the time and effort you have put in to this plug-in. I really appreciate it. I’m having a couple problems:

1) The only two effects that seem to be functioning are Thickbox and Shutter. The rest of them are non-functional for some reason.

2) Using the Thickbox effect, I cannot seem to specify how large the image appears on screen. As a result the description text below the image is sometimes running off the bottom of the screen, and you cannot even scroll down to read it. How can I adjust the image size so the text doesn’t get cut off? Options>Images>Resize Images doesn’t seem to do the trick.

3) Using the Shutter effect, I can at least scroll down to read the description text, but I don’t want the text align-center, I want it align-left. Where can I set this property?
