I’ve noticed that if I try to call <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> BEFORE the Next Gen gallery, the gallery falls apart.

I need Jquery for several things – is there a way to get around this conflict?

Not completely positive, but might have to do something along these lines:

Sorry i can’t give a definitive solution and I don’t know your level of comfort, but it’s a jquery conflict. It can get pretty messy…

Did you try calling the script in the footer instead of the header? before the closing </htm|> tag…?
