Neither if I go to next gen gallery > options > effects and select lightbox, it works. Do I have to add some code line there? I wish I could add this JS lightbox effect to change from one pic to another. Any other idea? Thanks!

I have finally solved the problem with jQuery Lightbox, this one works perfectly with nextgen, just proceed as indicated on installation.

i want to use nextgen with lightbox. i have installed both plugin. what sould i do more?
I am also having this problem, however, I have both jQuery Lightbox and NextGEN installed and activated and my lightbox effect still does not work. All the documentation I can find on it says all I need to do is activate it and choose the lightbox option in NextGEN (which I did). The rel=lightbox even shows up in my code. But it doesn’t work.. What am I missing? I am using WP 3.0.1

Same problem for me – I’m trying to get nextgen to work with Quiktab theme – it has a jQuery powered slider (http://www.wpthemes.com/quiktab-wordpress-theme/). I’ve tried just about every lightbox plugin I can find but nothing works!
I’m not following how Cleaner Gallery is supposed to help? I tried installing it, but I don’t see any options and nothing’s improved.
I seem to have issues like this every time I use NextGen. I’ve tried it on a number of themes and usually got it working after a bit of faffing, but it seems to behave differently every time. When it works it’s great, but I can’t figure out why it’s so unpredictable.

in addition, when i insert the code [nggallery id=1 rel="lightbox[Naima]"]
to call the lightbox gallery, instead the thumbnails appear followed by “] which makes it seem like it’s not reading that code correctly.
ive installed other galleries too and other lightbox solutions and they still don’t work either…
i was thinking it might have to do with the jquery slider now that u mentioned it.. ?
