[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGen gallery and SQL Server

Does the NextGen Gallery 1.9.2 plugin work with SQL Server (instead of mySQL)? I am using the WP Db Abstraction plugin to run WP on top of MS Sql Server. However the NextGen Gallery plugin fails when I try to activate it, after switching to SQL Server. I can see the rest of the site fine.
