• Hi there,

I recently uninstalled NextGEN Gallery Optimizer due to a clash which was preventing any effects at all from running when clicking gallery images. But now when clicking a gallery image I get both the fancybox effect and whatever effect I’m using in NextGen Gallery opening up at the same time on top of each other.

How can I uninstall whatever it is NextGEN Gallery Optimizer did when it installed fancybox onto my site?

    Many thanks in advance

  • Hi setagana85,

Sorry to hear you were having trouble with NextGEN Gallery Optimizer. If you’d like to elaborate on the issue when installed, I’d be more than happy to help troubleshoot.

Fancybox is completely self-contained within Optimizer, so if you deactivate the plugin, it should cease to load…but I wonder, did you perform and/or reverse the required installation step below? This is how the plugin hooks into NextGEN Gallery…

Check the Fancybox option on the (NextGEN Optimizer) settings page, then go to Gallery –> Options –> Effects, select Custom and enter: class="myfancybox" rel="%GALLERY_NAME%" to complete the installation.

It might be worth checking if you have any other Fancybox plugins installed also, or any of it’s scripts hardcoded into your theme.

    Hope this helps,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for your response. Now you mention it I neglected to check whether fancybox is hooked into my theme.

Most likely a conflict between the theme (Hatch) and the optimizer is what caused my nextgen gallery effects to break.
