[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Poor Image Quality After Uploading
-
I’ve installed the latest version of NextGen and I’m having major problems with the image quality after uploads. The thumbnails quality is set to 100%. When clicking on the the thumbnail to display the original image (like in thickbox), the image will display properly. But, when the image is shown at a smaller size or in the slideshow it displays differently. The quality is poor, the colors are muted or “washed” and it’s not nearly as crisp. I’ve tried poking around these forums and have found quite a few threads describing this same issue, yet none of them have been resolved:
– Degraded picture quality (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/373302?replies=2)
– How do I improve Quality of thumbnails? (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/351355?replies=6)
– nextgen-gallery shifts hue and saturation (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/401288?replies=1)
– How to update image quality for pics on server? (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/366011?replies=1)There have been some more reports of this behavior on other forums like this:
“It appears that the uploading feature, that is part of Next Gen gallery, actually changes the color profile or properties of images uploaded. Mine end up washed out. How do we disable this part of the script?”
If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening, please pass them along.
Thanks.
