Hi there,
While having issues with creating thumbs for a new gallery after a site move i ran into this error message. The images upoad to the server, but the thumbs directory stays empty.

any thoughts?

I had the same problem. I even had to manually go and create a thumbs folder. I changed the file permissions for my gallery folder and subfolders to read/write/exc everything. (777) After that I went into the manage gallery and bulk selected ‘create new thumbnails’. That worked for me. I have no idea what the correct file permissions should be, I imagine it’s not idea to leave it at 777. I still had to click ‘edit thumb’ on a few because they failed to generate TBNs with the bulk action. (Firefox4/Mac 10.6) WP 3.1.2 (PHP 5.1.6 below required)
