[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] using nextgen with existing gallery file structure

I have a gallery on my site (have been using lazyest-gallery plugin). I installed nextgen. When I attempt to add galleries nextgen creates new directories which, of course, contain no photos. I would like to preserve my existing gallery file structure. Is there any way to get nextgen to add galleries using existing directories and files?
