[Plugin: NextGEN Scroll Gallery] Start with most recent image?

    Benedikt,

    Just started playing with your gallery plug in, and so far it’s looking awesome. You’ve done some good coding.

    One thing that I’d really like to do is to set the Start Image to the most recent upload to the gallery. Of course the problem is that number is always going to increment as more images are uploaded…

    How can I configure the gallery to start at the “end” of the gallery rather than image 0?

    you can sort your images with nextGen
    or you can set the start image with the “start” field in the admin-interface.

    What I’m requesting is a “start” counter or logic that can identify the highest number image in the gallery and begin with that image.

    My reason for asking for this is to create a Photo Of The Day album. Users would add images themselves. But I’d like the display to always begin with the most current image, the one that has most recently been uploaded — FIFO logic.

    And yes, as you point out, you can set those options manually. However, if images are added, then the “starting image” number is always changing.

    1. If today, my start image is 99…
    2. An image is are added by a user with non-administrative permissions.
    3. That image, say numbers 100, 101, and 102; could not become the start image — the Image Of The Day.

    Which is wny I’m requesting an enhancement.
